Random Thoughts…01262012

Where is PP Jimmy? I was hoping to see PP Jimmy Ortigas in our meeting last week since RC Pasig was not holding their meeting on the usual day/time (that coincided with our meeting). In fact, PP Bobby Paterno of RC Pasig attended our meeting to make-up for his previous week’s absence.

PP Pol Leoncio reported that the District Nominating Committee will be selecting the next District Governor Nominee on January 21 (Saturday). The candidates are: CP Marilou Co of RC San Juan Del Monte, and CP Maricris Pineda of RC San Juan Gems.

News has it that CP Marlou Co was elected DG Nominee at a vote of 16-2. I believe that we are still within the prescription period for the losing candidate to “challenge” the results of the election. It is a pity really if losing candidates start to question the veracity of the election system. Let us expect an update from PP Pol Leoncio on this matter.

At last week’s meeting, PDG Pepe Peralta asked Pres Nan how preparations are coming along for the week-long medical mission in February involving foreign medical doctors. Apparently no one could point with any certainty where we are as such it was suggested that we invite a member of the sponsoring Rotary club, RC Downtown San Juan to give us an update.
