Random Thoughts…03012012
Last week’s meeting was held on a Friday night to devote longer time for fellowship. The irony of it all however, was that the formal meeting proper took longer than our regular weekly meetings. This was a good thing because there was a lot of interesting topics discussed during our meeting. PP Jimmy Ortigas, still weak but nevertheless feeling better after his bout with Dengue, was our impromptu guest speaker.
PP Jimmy spoke about the most recent development concerning the withdrawal of the “challenge” posted by the losing candidate for District Governor Nominee Designate. As such, it is now official that CP Marilou Co of RC San Juan Del Monte is our new DGND and will assume the DG position in RY 2014-2015. After this topic, PP Jimmy wanted to talk about the stock market but was swayed by clamor from our members to shed light on the highly publicized news about his second cousin, Paqui Ortigas.
It was announced by Pres Nan that every last Friday of the month, our club would meet and replace the Thursday noon meeting for that week. This was a move to break the monotony of our regular Thursday meetings. The nice thing is that we could still order breakfast for an evening meeting. One drawback of holding our meetings in the evening is that Rotarians with “strong-willed” spouses were notably absent.
Cheers and enjoy RotaryJ
